WordPress CMS Specialist

We are looking for a skilled PHP developer to take ownership of our content management system (CMS). In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the CMS by driving our landing pages, blogs and other customer-facing content ensuring that these are well-structured and optimized. Additionally, you will oversee the organization of all content within the CMS, ensuring a clear and efficient content management process.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop & Maintain CMS – Lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of our content management system (CMS).
  • Landing Page Management – Ensure all landing pages are well-structured, optimized, and properly integrated into the CMS.
  • Content Organization – Maintain a clear and organized overview of all content within the CMS, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
  • Performance Optimization – Improve the performance, speed, and scalability of the CMS to enhance user experience.
  • Bug Fixing & Troubleshooting – Identify and resolve issues related to the CMS and landing pages to ensure smooth functionality.
  • Integration & API Management – Work on third-party integrations, APIs, and plugins to extend CMS capabilities.
  • Collaboration with Teams – Work closely with our marketing, digital product and development teams to ensure seamless content workflows.
  • Security & Compliance – Implement best practices to secure the CMS and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency in PHP – Strong experience with PHP, including modern frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, or WordPress development).
  • Experience with WordPress – Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, theme/plugin development, and customization.
  • Proficiency with MySQL – Experience with database management. Specifically: MySql, the database of choice for WordPress, is a big plus. 
  • Front-End Technologies – Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Vue.js or React is a plus.
  • Performance Optimization – Ability to optimize CMS performance, improve load times, and enhance scalability.
  • Version Control – Proficiency in Git and working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Security Best Practices – Knowledge of digital security principles and data protection regulations.

  • Problem-Solving Mindset – Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Detail-Oriented – Ability to maintain a structured and well-organized CMS content system.
  • Collaboration Skills – Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including marketing and design teams.
  • Autonomous & Proactive – Ability to take ownership of projects, suggest improvements, and drive CMS enhancements.
  • Strong Communication – Clear communication skills to document processes and share technical insights.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in PHP development, ideally with a focus on CMS platforms.

Experience in an e-commerce or high-traffic website environment is a plus.
